Important Family Risks

Chatting with Strangers

In public games, people your child doesn't know can send messages.

Robux and Purchases

Small amounts can add up quickly; there's a lot of pressure from items and passes.

Scams and Fake Trades

"Free Robux," fake websites, and attempts to steal accounts are common.

Inappropriate Experiences

Not every experience is suitable for all ages, even with platform filters.

Voice Chat

Voice chat can become uncomfortable or too private.

Personal Information

Kids sometimes share their school, location, or other accounts in chat.

Quick Safety Check

Are Parent Controls / PIN set up?
Is the chat level appropriate for their age?
Have you checked who can follow/send messages?
Is there a spending limit or purchase restriction in place?
Is the friends list known and organized?
Is voice chat only allowed with permission or turned off?
Is it clear not to use Robux websites or share passwords?
Have you discussed which experiences are allowed?
Have you agreed on playtimes and breaks?
Do they know how to report and block in the game?
Is two-step login enabled for the account?

Privacy and Profile

Messages and Contacts

Location and Visibility

Location is shared only intentionally, for a limited time, and with people you know.

Content and Recommendations

Filters and supervised accounts can limit content, but they can't guarantee that every inappropriate video or contact will be blocked.

Purchases and Subscriptions

Family and Supervision Features

Family features support conversations and boundaries. They don't replace trust, education, or regular check-ins.

Block and Report

When to block?

  • Player profile → Block; Chat with that person will end.
  • Leave uncomfortable experiences and report if necessary.
  • Decline friend requests from strangers.
  • If stress continues: tighten chat settings.
  • Do not open scam websites — use the app/store as your only way to make purchases.

When and how to report?

  • Player or Experience → Report → Choose a reason.
  • Save chat logs/screenshots if needed.
  • Use official Roblox help for account theft.
  • Report and ignore suspicious 'free Robux' offers.
  • In case of harassment, involve a trusted adult and seek advice if necessary.

Conversation Starters

  • Who do you like to play with the most — do you know them in real life?
  • What do you do if someone asks for your Robux or your password?
  • Which purchases are really worth it — and which do you regret?
  • When is it okay to use voice chat — and when is text better?
  • How do you know when a game is becoming 'too much'?
  • Who do you turn to if someone is bothering you in the chat?
